Permits before plans
Boathouse construction permits in Muskoka and across Ontario flow through three desks: the township, the MNR or applicable conservation authority, and Transport Canada for in-water work. We start at those desks during pre-construction. A boathouse that cannot be permitted at the size you want is not a boathouse, it's a design exercise.
What we build
Two and three-slip boathouses, second-storey guest suites with full plumbing, lift systems for runabouts and wakeboats, cantilevered roof structures, cedar shake roofs, granite base cladding, Douglas fir timbers. Every boathouse we build is engineered for ice loading.
Foundations on the lake bottom
Crib, pile, and cantilever foundations depending on lake bottom and depth. Helical screw piles are the default on most Muskoka lakes today. We coordinate the marine subcontractor and the upland trades on one schedule.
